Baldwin County

SPANISH FORT, Ala (WKRG) Organizations here on the gulf coast continue to help those who still aren’t getting paychecks. Wednesday Prodisee pantry in Spanish Fort held special distribution hours for Coast Guard and other federal employees. The executive director says the pantry expected about a dozen families to show up, but about 50 ended up walking through the doors.

They were ready with extra volunteers, including one woman, whose husband works for the coast guard, “I wanted to do it for this specific occasion because you know, this is my family, and i live here in daphne and i really just wanted to help out. I wanted to be the face at the door to say hi and i’m in the same situation you are,” said volunteer Randi Wilson

Tonight at 10 we’ll hear more about her experience volunteering during this sensitive time and tap into other ways families impacted by the shutdown can get help.
