FOLEY, Ala. (WKRG) – OWA is going to the dogs for the second year in a row this St. Patrick’s Day. Explore everything OWA has to offer during the 2nd annual St. Pawtty’s Day celebration on Saturday, March 16.
Downtown OWA will be the main site for this canine-themed event with a variety of dog-themed vendors, a pet parade, dog adoptions, and a spectacular dog show inside The Park at OWA.
“This will be our second year hosting one of our favorite events,” said Kristin Hellmich, OWA’s Director of Marketing/PR. “Downtown OWA is always pet-friendly, but St. Pawtty’s Day is a chance to celebrate our furry friends and how much they mean to us. We are excited to expand this year’s event to also include vendors throughout Downtown.”
The pup-themed day kicks off at 10am in Downtown OWA with the pet parade. Those wishing to strut their stuff in the pet parade need to preregister at 9am in Downtown OWA. The $10 entry fee will be donated to the Baldwin County Animal Shelter.
If you don’t have a furry friend of your own, the Baldwin County Animal Shelter will be on OWA’s Island holding a pet adoption.
Stick around throughout the day because the Island will also play host to a family-friendly DJ from 10am-3pm.
A new addition to this year’s event is the costume contest. Dogs and their owners can compete for prizes in a variety of different categories starting at 10:30am on the Island.
To add a little more action to your afternoon, head inside The Park at OWA for a daring dog show by the Dare Devil Dogs. They will be flipping and flying at 11am and 1pm.
