ELBERTA, Ala. (WKRG) — Will it be a barnburner or a bore?  The owner of a new hemp dispensary in Elberta is set to answer questions and concerns about his business at tonight’s town council meeting.

Elberta is a small town in Baldwin County with a population of around 1,700 people.  So when a new business like this sets up shop, word gets around fast.

We spoke with Seedless Green owner Christian Butts Sunday.  He said they had a soft opening during last weekend’s Sausage Festival and had a good response.  He said their first clash with the town came when they put up their sign.  Their realtor told them the giant marijuana leaf was attracting some unwanted attention so they opted to take it down for the time being.

Butts says all the hemp products they sell in their store are legal in Alabama.  Tonight he’s set to answer questions at the Town Council’s work session at 6 pm.  The reaction has ranged from support to curiosity to criticism.  We’ll have to see how big of a turnout they have later this evening.
