Fairhope Volunteer Fire Department hosting cook-off

FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) — You can chow down on barbeque while raising money for the Fairhope Volunteer Fire Department.   The 3rd Annual BBQ Cook-off is planned for Saturday, March 30th at the Fairhope Civic center from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

Entertainment will be provided including live music and children’s activities.  City council members will serve as celebrity judges and prizes will be given to the best overall BBQ, ribs, chicken, and wild game.

Money raised will be used to fund equipment for fire stations and keep volunteers safe.  

Organizers say the event raised 30-thousand dollars and the goal for this year is 50-thousand dollars.
