Fairhope ticketing people feeding geese

Baldwin County

FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) – Fairhope Police will begin ticketing people feeding geese at Fairhope Beach starting next month.

You could be fined up to $500 and serve up to 6 months in jail.

The ordinance states “no person shall purposely or knowingly feed, bait or in any manner provide access to food to any wild, undomesticated waterfowl on any public property within the city limits of the City of Fairhope“.

A law has been in place since July 2017, but officials say they have to begin enforcing it.

The ticketing will start September 16th.
