Fairhope PD: Man in custody after running following traffic stop

Baldwin County

FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) — Fairhope police have taken a man into custody. Officers say he ran from his car when police pulled him over for a traffic stop.

This prompted police to search an area off County Road 48 near the city’s Walmart.

Authorities say the suspect is giving investigators fake names, so we will likely not know his identity until tomorrow at the earliest, according to police.

Officers plan on charging him with attempting to elude as well as trespassing. Other charges may come as well.

The public was never in any danger, according to police.
