FOLEY Ala. (WKRG)– The man described as law enforcement’s “strongest person of interest” in the stabbing death of Jeffrey Higginbotham is now charged with murder, according to jail records.
Nicholas Ryan Young, 35, was arrested in November for receiving stolen property after investigators connected Young to Higginbotham’s stolen SUV, but authorities had not charged him with Higginbotham’s death until now.
Higginbotham was found stabbed to death on October 30 by a maintenance worker at Bay Villa Apartments in Foley. His black, Dodge Durango was found in Pensacola one day later.
The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office has scheduled a press conference for 10 a.m. on Thursday.
