Super local races come down to the wire today.  In Baldwin County, only one County Commission seat is going to a runoff.  Last month the race between Tucker Dorsey, Billie Jo Underwood, and William McDaniel was the only commission seat with three candidates on the Republican side.  No one managed to get the majority of the vote to avoid the runoff.  We should note the most votes did not go to incumbent Tucker Dorsey last month but to one of the challengers Billie Jo Underwood.  We have to wait and see who ends up with the most votes now that it’s down to two candidates.  Last month one Baldwin County Commission incumbent retained his seat while another was defeated in the primary.  The winner will face Democratic Candidate Heather Brown in the general election.

A state senate seat is up for grabs today.  Dr. David Northcutt and Baldwin County Commissioner Chris Elliott are running for the District 32 seat.  They were the top two finishers in the Republican primary last month.  Elliott chose not to run for Baldwin County Commission and instead is seeking this office.  Yesterday we reported on the negative turn this race has taken.  We’ll have to see what sort of difference that makes in the vote today.  The winner in the primary runoff faces Democratic candidate Jason Fisher.
