
Nexstar Media’s Kimber Collins currently works with WKRG News 5, a CBS Television affiliate, in the Mobile/Pensacola/Ft. Walton Beach market as a reporter and multimedia journalist on WKRG.com. Previously, she has worked as Executive Producer and on-air talent both in Mobile, Alabama and San Angelo, Texas for KLST News.
A versatile broadcaster, Collins reports on every topic from underwater memorials to breaking news in Okaloosa County.
Collins has been spotted since 2020 bringing her fun personality to ‘The 4 on 5’ discussing trending stories Gulf Coast residents find interesting every day. Prior to WKRG News 5, Collins reported live on WKRG.com and the WKRG social media pages at community events and breaking news scenes.
With a love for all things marine life, Collins created A Turtles Journey blog on WKRG.com in 2019 to document her work as a Share the Beach volunteer. The group dedicating hundreds of hours each nesting season to walk Alabama beaches searching for sea turtle nests and protecting them from predators. Collins is also a certified scuba diver volunteering with the Divers Down Pollution Project in Destin, Florida working to clear the area waters of plastics and trash.
When not working, you can find Kimber outside enjoying the Gulf Coast and its beautiful beaches. She enjoys kayaking, swimming, shopping at local stores and listening to live music.
Collins is a graduate of Angelo State University in West Texas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass media communications. She was a member of the Rambelle’s Soccer team from 2013-2015.
Collins is a southern native. She was born in Savannah, Georgia and raised in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. She and her lovable pup Holly live in Destin, Florida.
