Colleen Peterson is the Weekend Morning Meteorologist and weekday Digital Reporter.
Mobile, Alabama feels like home to Colleen as she grew up in a small town near Cape Canaveral, FL. She spent most of her time growing up outdoors and at the beach pursuing multiple water sports. She loves going fishing offshore with her father out of the inlet. Her curiosity for weather began in 2004 when the eye of Hurricane Jeanne passed over her parent’s house. She continues to follow her storm chasing passion with Hurricane Michael and Dorian. She hopes to storm chase and keep the Gulf Coast safe and updated with future hurricanes.
Colleen also has an artistic side and taught herself how to play piano at a young age and continues to make music. She was a child actress and featured in a minor role in USA Network’s “Burn Notice” as well as Epcot Disney Ads.
Colleen combined her passion for science and acting and received a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology and Minor in Mathematics from Florida State University. She stays an active member of the American Meteorological Society.
