Blake Brown

Blake Brown is a Multimedia Journalist based out of WKRG News 5’s Baldwin County bureau. While he primarily focuses on stories in Baldwin County, he also covers our inland counties extensively.

He came to WKRG News 5 in April 2019 after spending several years handling marketing strategies for corporations and real estate agencies headquartered in Mobile and Baldwin Counties. He’s no stranger to WKRG News 5 viewers, though. He served as a Multimedia Journalist for the station from 2010-2014.

Prior to his career in television news, Blake was a familiar voice on WABB-FM 97.5 in Mobile where he hosted a weeknight radio show from 7p-midnight. His first radio gig was at Pensacola’s WYCT-FM Cat Country 98.7 where he also hosted shows and served as the station’s assistant promotions director.

Blake has covered more than a dozen tropical storms and hurricanes through the years that have impacted communities along the Gulf Coast. He’s reported for several national media outlets during severe weather events, including tornados, flooding and tropical systems. He’s also covered two presidential visits to the Gulf Coast, including President Trump and President Biden.

Blake is able to share stories from across our area quickly and concisely, using the latest technology for live reports and when breaking news happens on the Gulf Coast.

He grew up in Spanish Fort, Ala. and graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2009.
