Asher Redd joined the WKRG News 5 team as a multimedia journalist for the city of Mobile and Mississippi in June of 2023. From Lynchburg, Tenn., Asher is excited to live among the palm trees and report the Gulf Coast’s news when it happens and where it happens.
Since he was three, Asher developed a fascination with broadcast and print news. He loves to roll up his sleeves and dig for the answer to the community’s unanswered questions.
Asher graduated from the University of Alabama in May of 2023. While in college, he was an anchor, reporter and producer at WVUA 23 News in Tuscaloosa, Ala. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Information Sciences, and he minored in Criminal Justice.
When he’s not digging into a story, Asher enjoys reading the newspaper, taking care of his plants, fishing and making good coffee.
