WASHINGTON (AP) - Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says
she's "deeply disappointed" by Iran's sentencing of an American
journalist.
A lawyer for journalist Roxana Saberi said Saturday the
31-year-old dual American-Iranian citizen was convicted of spying
and sentenced to eight years in prison.
Clinton said in a statement the U.S. is working with Swiss
diplomats in Iran to get details about the court's decision and to
ensure Saberi's well-being. Clinton said the U.S. will "vigorously
raise our concerns" with the Tehran government. She says Saberi
was in Iran to learn more about her cultural heritage.
Saberi was arrested in late January. She first was accused of
working without press credentials. But this month, an Iranian judge
charged her with spying for the United States.
Lawyer Abdolsamad Khorramshahi said he would appeal the verdict.

in such a closed country , we will never know the truth, but at least obama has something in common to talk with old jahlabaladjulba about now. they both think anyone who is a free thinker and is not afraid to speak there mind agant them is a threat and are a suspects. the only thing transparent about the obamanation is cow farts!

Because BO said she wasn’t and he has promised to be completely transparent with all of us.

Why are we assuming she WASN’T spying for the United States?

I’m kinda thinking she must have been, considering the government even cares…

Another test of BO, sort of along the same lines as the pirates.  He will have his sheep make vague statements about the issue until she is released then BO will claim I told them “release her or we will take action”  or if she dies in prison he will say “I regret this loss, and I tried to work with them blah, blah, blah.  Never an authoritative stance from this guy. These countries know what they are doing, they are like little kids, they will hear BO say dont but they will continue to push just see how far they can get with him and from the first few months that distance appears to be a long, long, way.

Typical Democrat, “deeply dissappointed”, and will “vigorously raise our concerns”. C’mon, this is pathetic. She will probably die over there and all Hillary will do is raise a concern. Looks like this government has fallen. Welcome to the new United Socialst States of America.
