Lightning and tornado sirens don't mix. Officials at the Mobile County Emergency Management office say lightning struck this severe weather siren near Florida Street at 6:15 this morning. The bolt fried the early warning device. Officials say the siren then began wailing a default-tone. Workers disabled it. They say it'll be another two to three days before they can repair it.

that area floods. maybe why? who has control over the button on the horns?

Does anyone know about the tornado siren that went off this morning sometime between 4 and 5 around the Davidson High School area? Pleasant Valley Rd, Montlimar and Cottage Hill area.  I haven’t seen anything in the news about weather damage in that area. It was pretty bad around that time.
