McIntosh Police have confirmed that a tornado touched down in their community. The bulk of the damage appears to be in a neighborhood around Nichol Rd. and Boykin Blvd., just off Ciba-Geigy Rd. McIntosh Fire and Rescue has responded. Washington County EMA Director Stu Jackson tells News 5 that one home is missing its roof and several other homes in that same area have reported lesser damage. There are no reports of injuries at this time. Both the Washington County EMA and The National Weather Service are reporting lots of trees and tree limbs down in the area as well. Highway 43 is open and passable. News 5 Has a crew on the way to the scene of the damage. We'll have the latest details tonight on News 5 at 10.
