The Gulf Coast got some much needed rain Thursday afternoon. But we didn't need the strong winds that came along with the rain.

Randy McDaniel with Okaloosa County EMA says strong winds damaged 10 planes at The Destin Airport, causing an estimated million dollars in damage.

Three planes were overturned. Wind even ripped the wing off a fourth plane.

The storm blew through Destin around 4:00 p.m. EMA officials were still assessing the damage as of 6:00 p.m.
