Wal-Mart officials say they should know by Wednesday afternoon or possibly Thursday when their Super Center near Springdale Mall will re-open.

Downburst winds from a thunderstorm knocked holes in the ceiling of the store Tuesday afternoon.

Mobile Fire officials say six people were hurt, but none of the injuries were life-threatening.

Michael Coleman said he was in the building when the downburst hit.

He said, "There was just a big wind came, hit the top of the roof and sucked everything back out, and then sweptdown and came right back up."

In addition, firefighters had to evacuate the storebecause of a gas leak.

That sent customers outside into lightning and heavy rain.

Steve Huffman with the Mobile Fire Department said, "It was the lesser of two evils.  You don't want to be inside an enclosed building with a gas leak.  You're better off out here in the open where there's clear air."

Repair crews started working on the store Tuesday afternoon.
