Even if someone I know DOES depend on a check from Alabama Power what does that matter? They work day and night just so you can have your luxurious air condition and television! In turn having no life because they are on call 24/7! And the calls do come in the afternoon/middle of the night quite often.  So next time your sippin on your lemonade soaking up the a/c ... just know there are people working to make sure you have it.

What? You’ve got to be kidding. That or you or someone you know depends on a paycheck from Alabama Power!

In the Springhill area a tree fell on top of a line breaking two power poles and tearing down a ton of line.  Its not a duct tape job.  This type of job takes hours.

You have GOT to be kidding me KxVx!! Alabama Power is out in the rain and bad weather EVERY time!!! Some working 24 hours straight! You go ahead and bash the power company because that is what you want to gripe about, but to me they do an excellent job!~ Way to go Alabama Power! Thank you for all that you do!

It stopped raining about 2:30 pm yesterday and our power went out from 3 to 4. And I was at work in Whistler….no where near these power outages!

We learned something interesting after Katrina, when Georgia Power was here. In the Semmes area, where the power would go out after a strong breeze, let alone a thunderstorm…we were told there were no ?relay switches (that may not be the right term) on the lines and that is why there were frequent outages. We were told the switches were very inexpensive. I wonder if that had anything to do with it? I know our outages have been fewer since they put the switches on our lines.

I know it was out at Cottage Hill and University. I was standing under a nearby gas station awning when lightning hit a power pole on the corner.

What area?

And if I know Alabama Power, those 3322 customers probably shouldn’t expect power until AFTER everything in the ‘fridge has soured!
