MAGEE, Miss. (AP) - Authorities in Mississippi say a possibletornado has struck at least one small town, seriously damaging some
homes and businesses and injuring residents.
Police in Magee reported to the Storm Prediction Center in
Oklahoma that "major damage" occurred early Thursday morning on
the north side of the town of about 5,000 people. At least one
injury was reported there.
There were other scattered reports of downed trees, power lines
and damaged homes across southern Mississippi.
Police in nearby Mendenhall say no fatalities have been reported
and they are helping respond to the emergency.
