One Killed In Montgomery Floods

Alabama Montgomery - One death has been reported in Alabama as a torrential downpour in Montgomery swept a car into a flooded ditch killing the driver.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - One death has been reported in Alabama
as a torrential downpour in Montgomery swept a car into a flooded
ditch, killing the driver.
Mayor Todd Strange confirmed that a woman was killed Thursday
when the car was swept down the concrete ditch near Montgomery
mall. Her name was not immediately released.
Witnesses said a deputy tried unsuccessfully to pull her from
the car. When it was recovered after floodwaters receded, she was
no longer in the crumpled vehicle.
