Missing Alligators

ORANGE GROVE, Miss. (AP) - Allan Adams wants his alligators
back.
The owner of Gulf Coast Gator Ranch & Tours in the south
Mississippi community of Orange Grove says as many as 20 escaped
this week when flood waters topped a 6-foot-tall fence.
The missing alligators range in size from 6 feet to 14 feet.
Adams says the 130-acre farm is surrounded by swamps in a rural
area and the gators are not a threat to people.
The farm had as many as 250 alligators before Hurricane
Katrina's storm surge swamped the area in 2005, and other floods
have whittled their numbers down to several dozen.
Adams says the water is receding so the rest of them should not
be able escape.
