Gulfport Opening ‘Heat Shelter’ Top Help People Keep Cool

Mississippi Gulfport  The Charles Walker Senior Center will open Thursday for senior citizens and families who don't have access to air conditioning or who just need to get out of the soaring heat.

Gulfport is trying to help residents survive the record heat. The city will open a "heat shelter" on Thursday.

The Charles Walker Senior Center will open Thursday for senior citizens and families who don't have access to air conditioning or who just need to get out of the soaring heat.

The center is located at 4008 8th Street. For more information, call the Department of Leisure Services at 228.868.5881.
