Earthquake Rattles Central Alabama

Alabama Centreville Officials say the 3.8 magnitude quake was centered near Centreville in Bibb County

CENTREVILLE, Ala. (AP) - The U.S. Geological Survey says a small
earthquake with a 3.8 magnitude shook Bibb County.
The earthquake hit at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday, centered about 4 miles
north of Centreville. The Geological Survey says the depth of the
earthquake was about 3.1 miles.
A Bibb County sheriff's dispatcher says several residents called
the sheriff's department about the earthquake, saying they heard
"a rumble."
It was not immediately clear if any damage occurred.

THE UNITED STATES GEOLOGIC SURVEY REPORTS A 3.8 MAGNITUDE
EARTHQUAKE OCCURRED AT 525 AM THIS MORNING. THE EPICENTER OF THE
QUAKE WAS AT 33.011N/87.145W AT A DEPTH OF 3.1 MILES. THIS
LOCATION IS APPROXIMATELY 4 MILES NORTH OF CENTREVILLE
ALABAMA...OR 40 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF BIRMINGHAM.
