MOULTON, Ala. (AP) - A person critically injured by the tornado
that struck Lawrence County has died, raising Alabama's death toll
from the twisters to five.
The death at Lawrence Medical Center was announced Thursday as
Gov. Bob Riley made plans to visit the sites of the tornado
devastation in two north Alabama counties.
The identity of the latest victim was not immediately released.
But Lawrence County officials said the resident was in the area
where a couple and their teenage son were killed when a tornado
ripped their home apart in pre-down hours Wednesday.
A woman in Jackson County also died when a tornado hit the
Pisgah area.
