An unusual thing happened last night. As I came out the door, I saw a middle size Opossum eating. I just knew it would be gone as soon as I went to my picture post. I waited till the possum went to get a drink and slipped over and sat down. Strangely the possum returned to the food and was not at all bothered by me. I was able to get many many pictures of this visitor. When I looked away, I felt something touch my knee. When I looked I saw it was the opossum who had come over to check me out. With no far fair - it went back to eating. This is so unusual for a Opossum. They usually come alone don't stay if I move at all. No, it was not sick- or acting strange - I guess it just wanted to check me out. I hope it will come again another night. Some of the possums that have come are really big and no doubt male. This was either a female or young opossum.
I thought, I wish I could comb this opossums hair, but thought better.
