Guess you can call it a facelift forFacebook. And like a literal facelift, it will be up to those who
see it to decide whether it was worth the trouble. The social
networking site will force its 100 million users to get used to a
new look, starting today. The changes to the site were first
unveiled seven weeks ago, but users were able to decide whether
they wanted to switch over. If they didn't like the new set-up,
they were just a mouse-click away from going back to the old style.
That ends this week. Users will no longer be able to switch back to
the way the site was. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has tried
making radical changes to products on the site and he has ended up
apologizing for doing so. If users end up alienated it could drive
traffic to rival social networks like MySpace and Bebo.
