The CBS Evening News With Katie Couric will be broadcast in High Definition starting Monday, July 28th."The entire CBS Evening News team is excited that viewers can now watch our award-winning broadcast in HiDef," said executive producer Rick Kaplan.
The CBS Evening News was recently honored with an Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast.
The HD broadcast will originate out of a new multimillion-dollar control room, which broke ground a year and a half ago and includes new graphics. It replaces a 20-plus-year-old control room.60 MINUTES is expected to go HD in September and all of CBS News’ broadcasts will be HD by the end of 2009.
