Woman Wrongfully Arrested... Twice!

  The Clay County, Florida Sheriff's Office has settled a lawsuit with a woman who was wrongfully arrested twice.

Ashley Nicole Chiasson, seen in the picture on the right, spent a total of four weeks in jail, accused of grand theft and writing bad checks.

She was extradited out of Louisiana, where she lives.

The suspect authorities were after was Ashley Odessa Chiasson, seen in the picture on the left. She was arrested a few days after the mistaken arrests became public knowledge.

The sheriff's office settled with Ashley Nicole Chiasson for $67,000, which was paid through the department's insurance company.

The sheriff's department suspended four deputies without pay for making the mistakes.
