When Baldwin County District Attorney Hallie Dixon returns next week from an out of state vacation, she will have a decision to make according to state representative Steven McMillan. "All the anticipation and rumor is that she will resign."

According to multiple sources the county's lead prosecutor is the focus of an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission harassment complaint by one of the investigators in her office, Dean McGowan.

Sources tell News Five Dixon and McGowan had been romantically linked for the last couple of years. That relationship is said to have ended early this summer. The complaint filed last month.

"I wouldn't say it is common. I wouldn't say it is totally unusual. This is probably not the first time it's happened. Probably happened in other places I'm not aware of it in Baldwin County."

Governor Bentley's office says they have been inundated with questions about Dixon's position but as of now, governor's spokesperson Jennifer Ardis says they have not received a letter of resignation.

"If the things that I have heard have occurred, I think she would be doing the right thing to resign."

Assistant District Attorney Rushing Payne also tells News 5 he spoke with Dixon yesterday and there was no talk of resigning that Dixon is focusing on the upcoming trial term that starts Monday.
