TORONTO, July 9, 2014 /CNW/ - CTV's THE AMAZING RACE CANADA returned for its second summer run last night, instantly re-establishing itself as the #1 program of the summer*. As 11 teams from across Canada battled challenges not for the faint of heart - including an icy zip line and skydiving challenges - more than 2 million viewers (preliminary overnight data) tuned into the second season premiere on CTV, making it the most-watched premiere of any series this summer, and the #1 Canadian premiere of the 2013/14 broadcast season. Overall, 3.6 million unique viewers watched some part of the premiere, which peaked at 2.3 million viewers before Jon Montgomery revealed that Shahla and Nabeela had been eliminated from the first leg of the race. Final data for last night's season premiere to be released when available.
Last night's episode will encore this Friday, July 11 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, Saturday, July 12 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and Sunday, July 13 at 5 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO - and is available now on demand at CTV GO.
