DURHAM, N.C. -

A 41-year-old woman was indicted by a Grand Jury in Durham in the July 2012 murder of Donald Watson Sr.

The Durham Police Department said Crystal Brandi Fox was indicted Monday for the murder of Watson on July 9, 2012 on Regis Avenue.

Police said Fox is being held by the North Carolina Department of Corrections.

Waston,74, was found dead from blunt force trauma inside his home, police said. An autopsy stated a heavy crystal candlestick was found on the floor and a glass table near the bedroom was partially shattered.

Watson sustained numerous lacerations to the scalp and body, blunt force injuries and a few “sharp force” injuries to the neck and scalp, police said.

Police said Watson was a former Durham firefighter at the time of his death.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.
