Foley Boy In Critical Condition After BB Gun Shooting

Foley Boy In Critical Condition After BB Gun Shooting

Posted: Updated:
An afternoon of summer fun ended in tragedy for a 13-year old Foley boy. Caleb Thomas was shot in the head by a BB gun.

Caleb's younger brother, Isaiah, says he accidentally shot him.

Caleb was shot from about 30 feet away. The BB struck Caleb just above the eye and lodged in his brain. Caleb is in a coma at Sacred Heart Hospital.

The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office says no criminal charges will be filed in the incident.

The family only has limited, government access health insurance and the boy's mother will likely be out of work for several weeks as she cares for her injured son.

An account under Caleb Thomas' name has been set up at Centennial Bank.
