Blue Collar Country Phase 1 Update

Blue Collar Country Phase 1 Update

Posted: Updated:
FOLEY, Alabama -
The 500-acre Blue Collar Country site is one big, muddy mess! Recent heavy rainfall has delayed construction on Phase 1 of the project, but some progress has been made within the past few months.

Phase 1 of Blue Collar Country will feature a 27 million dollar sportsplex, two hotels, a restaurant and conference center. The sports tourism complex will accommodate high school soccer, football, basketball and lacrosse tournaments.

The big question? Will the entertainment portion of the project connected to celebrities Jeff Foxworthy, Lary the Cable Guy and Bill Engvall be built? And when?

Developer Glenn Bilbo would not talk to News 5 on camera about Blue Collar Country, but city leaders in Foley are confident the theme park attraction will be built.

Phase 1- the sports tourism complex- could open in spring 2015.
