Baldwin Co. Dist. 4 Candidates

Posted: Updated:
Voters will have an important decision election day in the district four race for county commission. The incumbent and current commission chairman Skip Gruber, "I have had a lot of people who have told me that through the years, we respect your honest, integrity and that's what I've got and that's what I live on."

Or, newcomer Brock Wells, "Vision, leadership, experience, character."

Two very different candidates. "We have accomplished a lot in the past few years," says Gruber. "We've gone through some bad times, along with everybody else, we were able to survive those times."

"Having a retired full colonel, two-time Vietnam veteran on the county commission would make it a little bit more respected and more powerful," says Wells.

Both men have the same goals, moving the county forward. "Just go back and look at my record. Yes, I did not vote along with everybody all the time. When I did vote it was from what I thought people wanted," says Gruber.

"I like the man but I think I bring more vision, more leadership and a vast amount of experience that I think we really need with the growth that's going on," says Wells.

The next four years will bring more changes to the one of the fastest growing counties in the state. How those changes are managed could depend on who voters choose Tuesday.
