District 3 Candidates Want Baldwin Vote

Posted: Updated:
Two names will be on the ballot for the Baldwin County Commission District 3 seat. Tucker Dorsey, "I like to do all these things that I have been allowed to do in this first term in office. Just really enjoying the opportunity to serve."

His challenger, Will McDaniel. "I love this county. This is my life. This has been my life and that's why I'm in this race."

Dorsey says his job over the last four years has been about helping people and putting his business experience to good use. "Our future is very bright and it's fun to tackle our problems that we have and find solutions that make good sense to the people of Baldwin County."

His opponent has spent the last 25 years as an emergency room nurse. He will retire later this year. "You should go into that booth and mark my name because I'm so passionate about this job. I'll look you in the eye and tell you I'm going to come to you and be available to you."

Population growth, infrastructure and quality of life are all issues both candidates say they have answers for.

"We've gone out and sold ourselves as a great community that we live in," says Dorsey. "We've got to figure out how to manage those people coming and manage it efficiently and wisely with our money."

"Agriculture is a biggie for me," says McDaniel. "I was raised on a farm so I know all those people. The schools are busting at the seams and it's the growth. I know it's growing but I want to maintain."

The at large election on June 3rd allows for all Baldwin County voters to cast their ballot for the entire commission.

Frank Burt is the only commissioner without opposition.
