Looking for Funds for 3 Mile Creek

Looking for Funds for 3 Mile Creek

Posted: Updated:
Mobile Baykeeper is in the running for a $25,000 grant that would help build more park space along Mobile's 3 Mile Creek.

The money is being put up by Bridgestone tire in a competition.  Mobile Baykeeper is vying for the money along with eleven other organizations across the country.

"More and more we hear from people what they'd like to see along 3 Mile Creek is more park space, walking and biking trails." says Baykeeper's Casi Callaway.  "So let's do it."

What they need is votes.  The more community support the group has through votes on the Bridgestone website, the greater the chances of winning the grant.

Baykeeper became eligible for the competition after a cleanup of the creek where 200 old tires were collected.  That used rubber has been sent off for recycling.
