If you like mac n’ cheese, you’ll want to be sure to check out the inaugural “Mayor’s Mac n’ Cheese Throwdown” on Saturday, May 10 at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in downtown Tampa. More than 25 eateries will compete in three categories to determine the best local mac n’ cheese dish. Get the details.

Like milkshakes? Beginning April 28, Sonic Drive-In will be bringing back its “Summer of Shakes” promotion which features some creative combinations including Chocolate Covered Jalapeno, Salted Caramel and Oreo Peanut Butter, according to a news release.

Wichita, Kansas-based Freddy’s Frozen Yogurt & Steakburgers is coming to Sarasota. The Bradenton Herald reports that a Freddy’s franchise owner is planning on opening the restaurant at a former KFC at 6224 N. Lockwood Ridge Rd. The fast food restaurant chain has 112 locations across the U.S. and plans to increase that number by 40 percent, according to a Freddy’s news release. The only other Freddy’s location in Florida is at 7376 52nd Place E. in Bradenton.

McDonald's continues to offer free coffee to its customers for a limited time.

The world's biggest hamburger chain says that participating U.S. locations will offer small cups of McCafe coffee at no charge during breakfast hours from March 31 through April 13. McDonald's said that this is the first time it's ever had a nationwide free coffee event. Get the details.
