Arrest Made In Unsolved Murder

Posted: Updated:
FOLEY, Alabama -     An unsolved murder investigation leads Foley Police detectives to Texas for an arrest. Police Chief David Wilson says Spencer Jerkins is now charged with the murder of Michael Saucier, who was killed five years ago in his home. The case rattled neighbors around Bay Street in Foley for years. Family members found Saucier's body on January 23, 2009. He had injuries to his head and neck. Police say the suspect, Jerkins,  lived in Foley at the time of this murder, but it took a while to gather evidence against him. The suspect has been serving time in a Huntsville, Texas prison. Foley Police investigators traveled to Texas to interview Jerkins, and then a warrant was issued for his arrest. Jerkins was transported from Texas yesterday and is now sitting in a Baldwin County Jail cell. Police say the investigation into the murder of Michael Saucier is not over, and they expect more arrests.
News 5's Pat Peterson is uncovering more details in this cold case investigation and will have reports on News 5 at 5:00 and 6:00.
