Useful Apps for Fat Tuesday

Useful Apps for Fat Tuesday

Posted: Updated:
If you're heading into Mobile for Fat Tuesday's Mardi Gras festivities, there are several apps that you might find useful when down at the parades.

Here's our Top 5:

#1 Car Finder \ Find My Car
Car Finder is a free app that allows you to save your parking spot location on your phone. Once you're ready to head home, the app will give you directions back to your car, giving you an easy solution to remembering where you parked. Car Finder has ads, however, Find My Car is a $0.99 ad-free alternative with a more user-friendly interface. Both apps are available App Store and Google Play.

#2 SocialRadar
This new, free application will allow you to find your friends using your social network data. SocialRadar uses your Facebook, Twitter and other social media accounts to search for friends who recently made posts. The app will then display the location of where your friends posted or tweeted on a map, giving you an easy way to locate them.If you're heading into Mobile for Fat Tuesday's Mardi Gras festivities, there are several apps that you might find useful when down at the parades. This app is free on the App Store.

#3 Flickr
Running out of space on your phone? Enter Flickr. The popular photo services gives users plenty of free cloud storage for all your photos. With an 'Auto Upload' feature, every photo you snap on your iPhone or Android smartphone will automatically be stored privately in Flickr's online digital locker, allowing you to delete the photo off your device safely. This app is free on the App Store and Google Play.

#4 The Mardi Gras Parade Tracker
Built for Mobile, this app gives users a schedule of all the parades during Mardi Gras, as well as maps of parade routes. This app is free on the App Store.

#5 WKRG News \ WKRG First Alert Weather
Of course, how could our apps not make this list? The WKRG News app features a section just for Mardi Gras news. Additionally, you can watch our extensive Fat Tuesday parade coverage live via our app. The WKRG First Alert Weather app features a live radar so you can track the latest weather entering the area -- hopefully not rain! Both these apps are free on the App Store and Google Play.
