Overnight Fire Destroys Home In Satsuma

SATSUMA, Alabama -

An overnight house fire Friday morning destroyed a home on 7th Street in Satsuma.

News 5 arrived on scene at 3:45 a.m. and the home was already a total loss.

Fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze for over an hour.

The homeowner tells us she and her husband were able to escape the home just in time.

They believe lighting caused the fire, but the official cause of the fire is still under investigation.
