Armed Robbery at Perdido Dollar General

Armed Robbery at Perdido Dollar General

Posted: Updated:
Two masked men armed with a gun and a rod or pipe, with bandana's over their faces and latex gloves on their hands, robbed the Dollar General just before closing in Perdido.

"They look fairly professional in what they had as far as instruments of the crime there and certainly they were well prepared to encounter any resistance," says sheriff's spokesman Major Anthony Lowery.

Still photo's taken from surveillance video captures the crime and the fear in the face of one of two attendants forced to hand over cash and cigarettes and then ordered into a restroom while the bandits made their getaway.

"People go to prison for life for this type of crime," says Lowery. "It is certainly something we need some help with and we need to get these guys off the street."

Take a look at the photo's again. Authorities need your help to identify the two men. Investigators believe it won't be long before they do it again. "I wish it wasn't true but unfortunately things progress faster than they do subside," says Lowery. "We have seen that the violence escalates as well."

The thieves got away with about a thousand dollars cash and a case of Newport cigarettes. Investigators are looking into similar cases in the south part of the county to try and identify the crooks. If you have any information that could help identify them you are asked to call your local police or the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office.
