Filming Wraps Up In Downtown Mobile This Week

Posted: Updated:
MOBILE, Alabama -

Making movies in downtown Mobile is becoming a familiar scene.

"There's a passion to make movies in this community. People are excited to have a movie come here," said Randall Emmett, who is producing "The Prince".

The movie stars several actors, including Bruce Willis, John Cusack, rapper 50 cent and Jason Patric. The movie will wrap up filming in Mobile by this weekend, but Emmett has big plans to return in the coming months to shoot another movie.

"We're definitely going to bring this other project that is already packaged here and we're probably going to announce it within the Hollywood community either this week or next week," he says.

"I'll be candid with you this has been the best film experience that I've ever had. The locals here have absolutely embraced us, some of the friendliest people that I've ever had the opportunity to meet and work with," said Brian Miller, who is directing the movie.

His favorite day of filming so far was when Bruce Willis was in town.

"We played a few practical jokes and all of these pictures were trying to take pictures and stuff and we kept saying Bruce come over here and of course it was a standstill and it was a lot of fun," said Miller.

The actors are enjoying Mobile, too.

"I haven't worked in Mobile before, but I soon found out very quickly that the southern hospitality is not just an old idiom. People are very, very sweet and kind and it's been a really good time," said Jason Patric.
