Donations Roll into The News 5 Great Toy Drive

MOBILE, Ala. - Willing hearts from all backgrounds made their way to the News 5 Toy Center.

"Holy cow! I mean, I've never seen so many toys in my life. It's phenomenal. absolutely phenomenal," said Ray Moore with the Kiwanis Club of Daphne and Spanish Fort.

Thousands of toys are waiting to be distributed to children in our area. Bug Master has donated the last three years.

"Certainly this time of year it's about giving. It makes you feel good and it makes our employees feel good to help contribute to those who are less fortunate than others, said Austin Key with Bug Master.

The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office rolled in with bikes and a truck full of toys. So did Thyssenkrupp and the University of Mobile.

"A few years back we decided we were still going to give gifts, but instead of buying for each other, we wanted to associate with a toy drive and there's none better KRG," chuckles Steve Lee with the University of Mobile.

Organizations, businesses and people aiming for one common goal, "I really believe that every kid should have something on Christmas," said Caleb Lopez, founder of Pulse Pro-life.

"We just feel the need to help somebody else and for those who can't afford to do anything. We just want to be able to bring a Merry Christmas to those children," said Donna Abercrombie with Bay Bank.

"Because we are so blessed. We are able to do things for our own children, and so this is a way to give to the less fortunate and make their Christmas just as good as our kids," said Ashley Singleton with Sherri Stevens with Johnson Controls Inc.

Making Christmas a little bit brighter for families who need it the most.

"I wish I could see the look on the kids faces because I know they are gonna love it," said Rachel Higdon and Kelsey williams with USA, Society for Human Resource Management.

You've still got until noon Wednesday, December 19th, to drop off toys.
