Mega-Millions Madness

Mega-Millions Madness

It may just be the hottest ticket in town.

"Whenever it rolls up like that it gets busy," says Robert Meszaros at Bob's Superette. "We call it 'weekend warriors', it brings out everybody."

A chance to instantly become a multi-millionaire proved to be too much for Alabamians wanting to buy a chance at a fortune. "The one thing I would do," said Phillip Jones of Fairhope, "I'd get my wife anything she wanted."

Kelly Smart's dream was a little different. "Buy a house for myself and my son."

43 states plus the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands are all part of the Mega-Millions lottery. Amanda Keelor from Foley would love to be part of it too. "My Daddy says that when he wins, and he will, he's going to split it with me right down the middle so I don't come back asking for more money."

The odds, of course, are against you. You're more likely to be hit by an asteroid. But, that doesn't stop folks from trying. "What are your chances of winning if you don't have a ticket," ask Jones.

This jackpot has been building since the first of October when someone in Maryland took home a 190 million dollar jackpot. Tonight's drawing is at 10 o'clock.
