Public Service Commission Grants Pipeline Request

Public Service Commission Grants Pipeline Request

Posted: Updated:

The Public Service Commission has determined that a proposed crude oil pipeline running from the Mobile waterfront is in the furtherance of industrial development.  The PSC has granted the request by Plains Mobile Pipeline Inc.

Dozens packed a community meeting in Mobile to express concerns about the project.  PSC officials say they would only consider whether the project furthers industrial development.  The line is approximately 2.2 miles long and replaces a more than 40-year-old line.  A statement from Plains says they’re pleased with the decision.  The parent company is Plains All-American Pipeline.  That’s the same company building an oil pipeline near Mobile’s water supply.
