Thousands Dress in Pink and Walk for a Cause

Posted: Updated:
Mobile, AL - Downtown Mobile was flooded in a sea of pink Saturday morning as thousands strolled down the streets for breast cancer awareness.

The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is through the American Cancer Society. Each year, walkers are encouraged to donate money that goes towards finding a cure for the illness.

For some, it is a reflection on those lost in the battle against breast cancer. For others, it's a walk that celebrates life, as well as the memories they shared with loved ones who also lost the battle.

Donations can be small or large. News 5 spoke with one team that worked all year to raise over $11,000 for this walk.

News 5 is waiting to see how much was raised in this year's walk. Be sure to catch the story on News 5 at 6:00.
