Driver Robbed By Men In Unusual Carjacking

Posted: Updated:
Mobile, AL -

In this quiet neighborhood on Panorama Boulevard you can stand in the middle of the road for awhile and not get hit by a car.  It's easy to flag somebody down.  Mobile police say the victim was just driving along the road when he spotted someone lying in the road, so he stopped his car, that's when another man with a gun hopped into the car followed by the guy who was lying in the road.

The two ordered the driver to take them a half mile away to the 1500 block of University Boulevard.

The suspects snatched some valuables and ran off on foot.

“That's awful, you're a Good Samaritan, attempting to help someone and that's the last thing you would expect,” says Ruth Smith, a driver I flagged down.  Police say they’re looking for two black males in their early 20’s.  One is described as a man with a beard and short dreads. The other is described as having a bushy haircut.
