Baldwin County Gun Policy

Baldwin County Gun Policy

Posted: Updated:
BAY MINETTE, Alabama -

Last week, the Baldwin County Commission voted 3-1 in favor of allowing permitted gun owners to carry pistols inside most county owned and controlled buildings.

The policy prohibits licensed handgun owners from carrying firearms inside the main courthouse, the district attorney's office, the jail, courtrooms and in buildings where access is limited and controlled through security.

But permitted pistol holders can essentially carry inside all other county offices and buildings.

The county's gun policy also gives special rights to elected officials, law enforcement, current and retired judges and assistant district attorneys who have permits to carry anywhere- including secure areas.
