Sewer Overflow on George Street

MOBILE, Ala. -

Mobile Area Water & Sewer System (MAWSS) responded to a sanitary sewer overflow near 200 George St. on October 7. 

According to officials, around 60 gallons of wastewater overflowed into Mobile River as a result of a blockage in the line caused by tree roots. 

MAWSS crews have cleared the blockage and are taking steps to prevent future overflows at this location.
