With a tropical disturbance organizing in the Gulf of Mexico. It's forecasted to be a wet, rainy weekend. It's not ideal weather for this weekend's Bayfest Music festival, but organizers say the show will go on.

"We do have rain or shine policy, so come down, bring your poncho, you may get wet," said Shana Jordan.

Lots of hammering and hauling is underway. The first of 9 stages is almost compete. Much of the help is coming from county inmates - racking up community hours, while saving the city and Bayfest organizers a few bucks. Bayfest makes the second largest economic impact in the Port City next to Mardi Gras - raking in 43 million dollars.

"The tax dollars that it brings in affords us a lot of services for the city. It keeps your tax dollars lower, what we are able to bring back to the city. We do have the national weather service that has been on hand just monitoring the weather for the stages, safety of the artist and the patrons that are here," said Jordan.

Even with the soggy weather forecast, hotel managers in downtown Mobile say they are still booked. Rooms at the holiday inn are sold out and so are rooms at the Quality Inn.

"Definitely keeping an eye on the weather with the rain and everything, but we've only had very few cancellations and then turn around and had people book them right back up," said Anna Burdine, Quality Inn manager.

A crowd of 230 thousand is expected this weekend. Rows of porta-potties are being placed along the streets as security measures get in place.

"The Mobile police department along with our private security team that we hire. so they will be checking bags, as you enter, especially if it's a large bag. everything is subject to check," said Jordan.

With organizers, businesses and people hoping this weekends music fest isn't a total washout.
